This weekend I'm grateful for.... choosing my own path

I'm back! The double-header party last week left me without the energy for a Maxabella-inspired Grateful Post, but believe me that I was grateful for lovely people- minor and major- who helped the party run smoothly. Aren't friends great?

I sometimes get the guilts about skipping posts I was planning to do. But you know what? It's my blog and I can choose when and what I write... I just can't choose who reads it! :)

The other thing I'm grateful for this week are real bookshops. Y'know, the ones you have to walk into? I thought I was a complete online convert, but Lucy at The Hill of Content Bookshop on Bourke Street made me realise that when I don't know exactly what I want, having someone in the children's section who apparently remembers the details of every book is worth the extra cost of the book , plus the extra books I was incited to buy. ("Apparently" not referring to her memory, but the fact that I can only judge on the basis of the 4 or so books she suggested that I had read) And she knew the difference between the real Enid Blytons and the modern spin offs.

Oh, and I'm grateful to the Wiggles, whose 930am concert was enough incentive for the boys to eat and get dressed with enough time to spare that I had time for an early Grateful Post!

Oh...I LOVE a good bookshop too! {Don't get me wrong...I'm also loving the ease of online shopping!} but I can spend hours in a great bookstore... reading, browsing, being inspired! My 2yr old loves it too...the best way to buy time on a rainy day...we head to the library or local bookstore :)

Ah yes, the blog guilts. Don't worry, you get over it. Love proper bookshops too, so rare and precious. Have a lovely weekend with your family.

As much as I love online book shopping, I will never grow tired of being inside an actual bookstore. It's heaven.

Don't ever feel guilty about when and if you blog. As you say, it's your place! The only time I've ever felt guilty about my blog was when I wrote a post that unintentionally hurt someone. That was guilt!! x

Real bookshops are the best!

We have a great little one in Noosaville called 'The River Read' and the girls have not only a terrific selection of new and second hand books, but they facilitate a number of bookclubs, serve great coffee and are always on hand to recommend the next 'great read' to their customers.

Enjoy your weekend reading,

Felicity x

I love that image. Makes me want to go out into the bush and find it :) Book shops are the best! We are getting reacquainted with the Wiggles at our place since the twins have started liking them. I will never tire of watching a child do the actions to Rock-a-Bye your Bear. Magic!

Thanks all for the comments (each one adds $1 to my A Project A Day for December donation kitty). The Wiggles were great, and yep, Rock-a-bye the bear is completely captivating. That, Hot Potato and Twinkle Twinkle were just amazing for watching both boys get right in.

MM-re photo- Thanks! I took it yonks ago in Kyoto- had forgotten the place's name until I googled "Kyoto stepping stones" and there were sixteen variants. It's in the gardens of Heian Shrine, and it's called a "lying dragon bridge"- I love the name!
